I added the heated/cooled Katzkins to my STX and am quite happy with the looks and feel of the kit. Most people think the truck is a much higher trim level, and the cooled seats are a lifesaver here in CA.

No, I had it done as a dealer-installed option due to my limited time to attempt. I believe I could have done it myself however. I think I paid around $1900....the heated/cooled part is what really drove the price up. But I would do it again even at that price. With the 5-camera system and the Katzkins, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything over higher trim levels. I'm a pretty simple guy. (Although I did put an entire new sound system in it.)
To me the only real comfort upgrade to the higher trims is the power seat.
most of the rest if the stuff in a Lariat is annoying at best.
But damn the seat in an XL is just wrong and uncomfortable.
my last new truck was a 2016 Platinum. The only thing I really missed was the power seats (mainly height adjustment) so I bought a set of 10way power seats from a wrecked f150 for 300. Installed katzins (and heaters in front seats).
So you have to replace the entire dash, not just the piece that goes over the cluster and the piece that goes over the glove box? I figured that was the case but a guy can dream.
