To me the only real comfort upgrade to the higher trims is the power seat.

most of the rest if the stuff in a Lariat is annoying at best.

But damn the seat in an XL is just wrong and uncomfortable.

I’m really just leaning more towards upgrading the XL to avoid the want for a new truck. She is paid off and my buddies lariat makes me miss some of the features. I pulled the trigger on the Katzkins but I might cancel them and order some Clazzios seem to be about just as nice and I don’t have to tear everything apart. Did order the leather dash trim pieces and some other black/ebony trim pieces.

Also ordered the Ebony jump seat cup holder to match the new black leather, the ebony piece for under the steering wheel, and ebony glove box... Also might have some Lariat door panels from a buddies project truck out of a 2017 f150... would be taking the leather out but he has a broken window and its all nasty now from rain. He is using alot of the parts from the dash, but he just said this weekend I could probably come pull the door panels. I really just need to find some inner and outer vent covers that work with my truck and the jump seat set up or paint mine and I dont think the common person would know my truck wasnt a lariat.

That's an odd color to match. I plan on ordering an XL with vinyl seats and then swapping out for factory black cloth from an F-150 off Ebay. That will leave me in the same situation as you. Apparently Katskinz ship with covers for the jump seat in every order. I found someone that installed black Katskinz in their XLT with a console and bought the leftover pieces. If I remember correctly, I only paid for shipping. I think it was less than $20. Good luck finding a match for that color though.

I've read where the Lariat steering wheel is pretty much plug and play installation.
The trim on the Lariat steering wheel is pretty nice.

Mostly everything that people say is plug and play with these trucks/any new truck... is in all reality plug, FORscan, and play. Lol. I need to find someone in my area that’s good with FORscan and learn me up on it.

also, my XL didn’t come with sync... so I’m guessing that’s my issue. My steering wheel didn’t have buttons on the right side, would love to find someone with the ability to help me in person with FORscan so I could feel confident doing it. I’ve read 100000 posts on it, and something about it still scares me.

If someone could figure out an alternative for the jumpseat that would be so nice! So many kits made for just the console trucks... I 100% prefer the jumpseat just hate that in ford that means you get grey vinyl (my 01 Ranger has vinyl...it’s sticky...miserable) or Gray cloth. The 2015 150s had the Lariat with the jump seat, but you can’t touch a black leather one for less than 500-700... might as well go katzkins at that point.

The deal I got on this truck was too good to pass up, but the XLT I looked at had the console and was a no go. I know I’m in the minority here... the only thing I regret with the XL (which I know some have it) is mine didn’t have sync and fog lights. Have sync 3 now, and having trouble pulling the trigger on a fog light front bumper. Also hated the blue dash, but switched to an XLT Cluster 2 weeks after I bought The truck.

I am eyeing the raptor steering wheel with paddle shifters. There is a harness available to make it plug n play. Be sweet with the 10 speed.

Once again though, why mine doesn’t work I think is because none of those buttons existed on my truck from the factory. Would love just a leather wheel, but if I’m not gonna gain controls I’m fine just having them there for now.

I agree, jump seats are the way to go!

Yeah I was unable to use the radio buttons on my last truck I upgraded the steering wheel
in. Was perfectly ok with it, was more concerned with the better feel of the lariat wheel.

Read about it online and some people said it magically started working but mine never did. These were trucks like mine that didnt have the option originally.

I made sure my next work truck had Sync just for safety as I am on the phone all day driving around in congested areas. My next one will have Sync3 for safety again as I use Navigation on my phone a lot.

My buddy has the rough country seat covers in his 2016 150 but he has the center console... they fit perfectly and stay in place and are dirt cheap... I would’ve ordered those forever ago if I could figure out an alternative for the fricking jumpseat! Guess I’ll just be sticking with doing the katzkins and hoping I’m not getting in over my head.
