Oil flow

Does anyone know how the oil flows in the engine? As in where it enters the heads, through the head/cam/rockers/phaser etc?

I have some noisy rockers that are not spitting oil and I assume there is some form of blockage happening.

Also, how does one remove the rockers from the rail? I cannot (easily) remove the bolts and don’t want to force them.

Just a guess but it looks like it comes up through the bolts. It doesn't have to be under that much pressure to lube the roller and lash adjuster.

On your first thread what where the 19 codes you had.

The P0019 and P0017 are the main codes.
P0019 is the OBD-II generic code indicating that the crankshaft and Variable Valve Timing (VVT) position sensor B for bank 2 exhaust camshaft does not correspond signals with each other.

What the P0017 code means. P0017 is the OBD-II generic code indicating that the crankshaft and camshaft position sensor for bank 1 exhaust camshaft do not correlate signals with each other.Mar 28, 2016

The 304 through 308 are for multiple misfires and the P0128 is throttle position.

You installed a new oil pump but are you sure the oil pickup tube is clear of any slug because it doesn't sound like you have enough oil presure on both bank's to run the VVT. Or your static valve timing is way off and things are running into each other like pistions hitting valves.

Where would I attach an oil pressure gauge to monitor oil pressure?

The sending unit is down by the lower radiator hose, install a gauge there but that doesn't give you presure at the valve train.

I really beleave you have an internal engine problem and with that much sludge a oil passage can be plugged anywhere. I also beleave the sludge came from blow by being pulled up into the right head by the PCV system and burned.
