92 f250 shift problem
I have a 1992 F250 5.8L 4x4 manual trans.
Starts and runs fine, but after about a half mile, if I'm in anything but 1st gear, the engine shuts down. Will not restart unless in 1st gear. No codes.

There is no electronic connection between the manual trans and the engine, so your statement that it "will not restart unless in 1st gear" makes no sense to me. The engine has no way of knowing what gear you are in when you are starting the truck.
