Have had a few windshields installed. Newer ones are a piece of cake and I would have no worries doing one. Helped the pro install my Spitfire windshield (same design as the Ford, glass into a tight gasket) and we struggled. I'll take one out but like roofing, some things are just better off being paid for. Just my cowardly $.02.

I swapped over my windshield and backlite glass when I swapped cabs, and it really wasn't that bad. I did the windshield first and reused to old seal, (it came out of the old cab easily since the roof was rusted out...) and other than being time consuming, going an inch or less at a time, it went right in. It got more difficult at the end, but working gently with a variety of tools, I got it done.
I would call the backlite glass a piece of cake by comparison. I got it out of the old tab with the glass and seal intact, and had it installed in the new cab in probably 20 minutes or less.
