1968 windshield trim

1968 windshield trim

I replaced my windshield today and I am having a hard time putting the trim back on. Is there a easy way to put the trim back on? I was using soap and water. With no luck.

Rubber seal goes on the glass. Trim goes on the rubber seal. Trim, rubber seal and glass, as an assembly, gets installed into the windshield channel of the cab.

Can I install the trim with the windshield installed or do I have to pull the windshield out to put the trim on?

Trim (stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings) are installed on the windshield weatherstrip first .. then the weatherstrip is installed on the windshield. There is NO other way to do it!

You must pull the windshield back out. Good luck and have extra hands. I put my seal on the glass then used tape to hold it in place. Wrap the tape from one side of the glass over the seal and on to the other side. As you install the the trim, peel back the tape at the section of trim you are installing then use it to hold the trim and seal on as you go. Two people is good; three people are great. Try and find someone that has done it before. That always helps.
