I’m ordering an updated Navigation card for my 2015 F-250 (going from A5 to A11), but I want to update my system first. I went on the Ford site and it says I can update to version SYNC2 - V3.10. I prepared a USB drive and went to download the update file to my computer, but I get the following message:
“Oops! Something went wrong on our end. A message has been sent to our support team, please try again later.”
Same message for two days. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there reason to believe that the “team” is actually going to do anything?
My guess is that it goes to the same place Windows error messages go to when Microsoft asks if you want to send the error message to them...
The Navigation update should work fine without updating Sync, as it generally just updates the map. If, for some reason, it doesn’t work, then you can deal with updating Sync.

I opened up an online chat with Ford about this question, and after an hour wait got this response, "The problem you are experiencing is a known issue and is being worked on. We ask that you try to access the download periodically. I apologize for the inconvenience. Did you have any other questions or concerns at this time?" After I said "no", they asked is I wanted to take a short survey to rate their service. I respectfully declined...
We'll see if the download ever becomes available again.
There are, of course, various reasons this could happen, but the most likely is: What USB stick did you use? One that's too big is bad.
It has to be formatted exactly as they say: FAT32 I believe. Do you have the file(s) on the USB stick anymore? Any chance you can upload them somewhere so I can check them out for you and see if they are correct?

Hi Krewat,
My problem isn't with the USB. I haven't been able to download the file from Ford yet, to put it on the USB stick. I prepared an 8GB stick, formatted as required, but can't get the file(s). I just tried the site again, and the error message has changed to "An error occurred. Please try again." I'll keep plugging away and see if I'm ever able to get the stuff downloaded.
I got the SYNC update files to download this morning (yea!). I am planning on trying to update it after work. One question: I have a new Navigation SD coming this Friday (A11, to replace A5). Should I update the SYNC before I get the SD card, or doesn't it matter? Any thoughts or experience appreciated.
I would update the system before replacing the SD card. Sorry for the delay in answering, Tropical Storm Isiaiah really slammed me.
Hi Krewat,
Hope all is well from the storm. As luck would have it, my new Nav card came with instructions to update the system first, which I just did about an hour ago. The update went fine, and both the SYNC and Nav software is now up to date. I turned off the truck and replaced the old card (A5) with the new card (A11) and restarted the truck. I checked the system info and it still said A5. So, I turned it off again and removed the new card, leaving the slot empty. I started it again and got a warning that there was no SD card installed. So I installed the new one and then checked the system info again. This time, it showed the card as A11. Everything seems to be fine, so I’ll test it out on my next drive.
