4R100 Accumulator Help

I'm trying to install the transgo SK E4OD kit and cannot get the OEM 1-2 shift valve out of the accumulator body. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to get it out?

Same as that (it reeks) POS E4OD -(E4 and 4R are essentially the same, other than the latter/newer IS stout, the prior POS not so much) - press retainers on ends in, lift retainer, use pick on the other retainer closer to the center of valve body..........no special tools.
