Long story long. 2017 F350 CCLB 6.7 loaded 4x4 Lariat 42,000 miles, 90% towing. 11,000lb TT. NO steering/ death wobble EVER. Truck is stock.
Bought a used Fox TS 985-02-132 used on Craigslist. Unit looked like new. Story was he sold the truck. Installed just before cross country trip, what could go wrong with a Fox Steering Stabilizer right/? Thought I was making a no brainer upgrade. Well today I’m 2,000 miles from home and get death wobble three (3) times on back country hiways NOT towing. Holy crap, return to our campsite and remove the stabilizer only to find it leaking a very sticky red fluid. I did not bring my factory stabilizer with me. So, I need to find a factory stabilizer somewhere between southeastern Kansas and Nashville (used would be great).
Side note. Anyone have any experience driving the described truck without a stabilizer? I’m on the road Saturday 07/25/20 on my way to Nashville. Please contact me 925-640-1380 if you can help.
Bum deal. You should be able to get a Bilstein or other stabilizer for around $100 at an auto parts store based on model and year. That will be your best bet.
