Adaptive steering malfunction, anybody else getting this issue, this is the second time in the last month it’s happened to me, The last time I had to drive with the steering wheel a little crooked and after parking and restarting the truck later it was fine! now the steering wheel is completely sideways, I tried restarting the truck and allowing everything to timeouts before I left the parking lot but didn’t do anything now going down the highway With it 90° turned is weird as hell! I hope it resets itself
I had that happen 2 times within one month about a year ago and then never again since. The second time was like your picture. Super weird to drive. But it never happened again after I restarted the truck
Odd, I just pulled away from the job site and like you said it’s corrected itself again even from that extreme angle right away like nothing happened, hopefully like yours it doesn’t happen again, wonder what causes it? maybe a wet connection? or it just wants some attention?
I started getting it about a year or so ago. Happened once and then went away. It did the steering wheel sideways a few times too. Started to happen more and more frequently and eventually became a daily issue as I ignored it a bit too long. Did some research here and everything pointed to batteries going bad. Took it to Oriellys to have them tested. The young man there tested and "passed" the batteries. Bad news for the young man was that I might have known a bit more than him. I educated him on the fact that I had two batteries and that you cant test a single battery when you have two hooked up in parallel. He said I was wrong, so I pulled the wrench out of my pocket (yep, came prepared to change batteries) and unhooked the connections and he tested them individually. Both of them were toast. They were the OEM on my 2017 model year truck. Replaced them with new batteries and haven't seen the problem since then.

Excellent point, I had my batteries replaced in January of this year and both of the times it happened was prior to battery change. Low voltage causes lots of problems.
That’s probably exactly what was happening I had some issues with my battery about a month ago just from having hazards on Too long with a trailer attached with non-LED tail lights, my truck is also a 2017, ****ty if I have to replace both those batteries, guess I should get my looked at

I find it annoying that we don’t have a voltage gauge on the dash.
