1993 f 150 xlt 351 automatic
my cruise quite working about a year ago. I thought it had to do with a brake issue i was having (rear drum fell apart inside). But I got that fixed and still no cruise control. All fuses appear to be good , (checked with a light) and all brake lights are working. Does any one have any new leads I could follow? I feel bad asking on here I’m sure this topic has been discussed lots.
Ps I also jumped the brake pressure switch.
Auto or manual?
Sometimes I have to slightly push the clutch in and let it slam back out to get cruise to work. I'm sure it's an adjustment issue but I can get it to work so I don't care too much
Has the Speed Control recall been done on this truck? If not...STOP right now after you unplug the connector to the Brake Pressure Switch (BPS), It's a fire hazard.
If the recall has been completed then use this guide to verify the inputs are good. Good inputs...and still not working means you have a bad amplifier.
So it was my brake pressure wiring harness. It was rotten. I was going to take a real good look at it and as soon as I touched it it fell a part. I put new ends on and I had cruise again! I hope this helps some one els down the line.
