This shot scares me, even worse than accidentally finding a naked picture of Rosie O'Donnell. What in the world is a genuine monkey wrench doing under the hood? Even worse, what about that black hose connected to the passenger side valve cover? I think the PCV valve plugs into the valve cover, and the line runs near the front of the carb.
thanks Dave, not sure I catch your drift. Do you mean you the power probe and put power to the harness connector for the clutch switch. Do you know if that wire goes straight from clutch switch to solenoid? I have the same wire color going to distributor as well, wondering if it branches somewhere in the harness.
Lets try this again.
On the clutch pedal there is a switch.
This switch should have 2 wires going to it.
When you turn the key to start 1 of the 2 wires should be hot / have power.
Now push the pedal down turn the key to start and see if both wires get power.
If not unplug the wires and take a short piece of wire and jump the 2 wires together.
Now do the test with key to start and see if you get power to both wires and maybe the motor will crank if you are lucky.
You can leave that wire jumper in the plug for testing just remember if you turn the key to start and the motor cranks and the truck is in gear it will move.
Dave ----
Just take a temporary scrap piece of wire, install it on the starter solenoid terminal and then touch it to the red/blue terminal on the ignition switch. Does it crank over when you turn the key now?
