I am currently trying to put my motor back together to hear it run for the first time since owning it. I have a set of hooker headers that I am trying to put on got the driver side put on but I can't seem to get my passenger side one on. I took off the starter and I can get the header in place but can't get the starter back into place. Anyone got any ideas on how to get it done? Also has anyone ran the mini starters that are available and if anyone has any links to them that would be much appreciated!!

Reason: spelling errors
On mine, with different header manufacturer, I had to unbolt the passenger side motor mount, jack the motor up, and install the starter and header at the same time. Not fun by yourself and you have to repeat the exercise if you need to change the starter. My 4R70W conversion included a mini-starter that I can r&r without loosening the headers. I'd upgrade the starter now when you can get to it.
Many listings for starters and other components only show for the 390 on certain sites. The 360 and 390 share the same starter.
I just put the power master 9506M on, runs great and clears headers well. Don’t get the 9506, it has clearance and terminal issues with it being on the block side. I’ve had a great experience with this one and their customer support is excellent.
