Steering column swap
So I have a 1978 steering column (power steering) in a 1968 F100. If I can find a 1968 steering column (power steering) do I need to change the gear box? pump? Swapped it when I was young because I wanted power steering. I would like it to be correct. An ideas?

The search feature on fte is not so great. If you add site:www.ford-trucks.com in the search bar google will pull up hundreds of threads from FTE. I've found answers to most of my questions this way.
Sadly, if a questions seems old or uninteresting, sometimes no one will bother answering it.
