I used to have a 2006 F-350 6.0 Diesel, Crew, short bed.

FLYCT,
I priced out on the X-Plan link through Ford. Nice feature. I'm not looking for top notch.
350, XLT, Crew, Short bed, 4x4, Prem Pkg, Snow plow pkg, Console front seats. That's pretty much it, yes there are a couple things you have to get based on the Plow pkg.
That comes to $50175 Xplan (minus the 500 rebate)
Everything with in 100 miles is too much crap on it. Or no Console and that is the one thing that is a Must.

I figure I can order the Spruce color now and not all the fluff. I do wish they had a Forest Green tho or a good Maroon like I had before
I ordered my last 350 (the 2006) so I guess I just need to figure out how long it will take to get here..... ForeveRRRRR lol

I appreciate the offer

Lin - we ordered ours on Wednesday. If you do place an order, be sure and have the dealer show exactly what all the fees and taxes will be even though you won't need to worry about paying for a couple months. Tell him you want to plan and budget and don't want any surprises when the truck arrives.

Which engine are you looking for?

Lin,

Your in the same place as I was when I wanted a F350 specked out perfectly for my wants and needs. I ordered with X-plan and PCO when I order my 2019 F350. That way I didn’t have to pay for options I didn’t want like sunroof and get it exactly like I wanted.

My suggestion is to order. The wait will be about 10 weeks. The time will pass quickly. Go to a bigger dealer and ask if they have allocations for a F350.

I searched and there’s nothing with XLT CCSB, premium, w/console, snow plow etc anywhere near you.

As far as X-plan goes how do you qualify? Is it through your employer? If it’s through an organization like EAA, Mustang Club, DAV etc they require that you are a member for 30 days before delivery and you MUST show your membership card that shows date you joined. You must also have generated a PIN number online and provide that to the dealership. Another way is to have a relative that qualifies living in the same household as you that qualifies and generates PIN number.

I qualify for X-plan 3 ways; as a retiree from my employer, as a DAV member, as an EAA member.. I’ve used X-Plan 11 times. First time was in 1995. It makes negotiating easy. You just need to negotiate your trade in value.

Time is running out on the PCO.

Through Employer but I am going to quit soon, I wonder if they need to renew the Pin when it arrives? I have the Pin now. I can always join a club, too bad AAA doesn't count . <--- I wonder what this little guy says at the end of his head shake...
I started a new thread about ordering, maybe you can answer the Allocations part there so others can see it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19365282
When did you negotiate the trade in? Did you put a Down payment on it?

Having a PIN is only step 1 for using X-Plan. When you pick up the truck you will need to provide either a current paycheck or a Employee badge showing your current employment or being a current retiree with that employer. The dealer must provide a copy of the paycheck or badge with the X-Plan paperwork.

Since you may not be employed with that employer at delivery I recommend that you join either EAA or Mustange club NOW so when your truck arrives you have a membership card. That way you’re covered in case you run into a snag with the dealer realizing you are no longer employed by that employer. EAA Membership card can take 30 days to get to you and requires you must be a member for at least 30 days at delivery. It will be a $40 investment that will eliminate any doubt about qualifying for X-plan. https://www.eaa.org/eaa/eaa-membersh...nition-program

Trade negotiation; The dealer gave me option of locking in trade value at time of order or at time of delivery. I did it at time or order. If I did it at time of delivery I would be at their mercy on value. In fact I delayed authorizing the order a few days so I could negotiate more for my trade. I was able to get them to up the ACV another $1,202.

I didn’t sign anything or give them a deposit but I’ve bought several other trucks from them and was on first name basis with the sales manager. I was on the road when I finally agreed to have them order the truck. Before agreeing I had then email me a buyers order with all the agreed upon number listed and then I verbally agreed to order it on the phone.

Was it a good trade price? I'm surprised they did that and you get to keep driving the car .

Ok I was looking on the X Plan info and even if I leave who I 'Work for" under Xplan I also work as a Contractor for another company till next January.
"Partner Recognition:An eligible Partner Recognition employee or retiree may generate up to two (2) PINs per calendar year to be used towards the purchase/lease of a new vehicle for them or members of their households as noted below (see PIN Generation for details):
  • Employees (full time, part-time and contract), retirees and spouses of eligible Partner companies (suppliers, fleets, etc.) and members of specific organizations or groups.
  • Residents of the same household as listed above (driver’s license required for proof of residency).
  • Participation is by invitation only as determined by Ford Motor Company and Lincoln Motor Company. Not all suppliers, fleets, etc. are eligible.

3. PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY

For employees of eligible partner companies, you must provide a recent pay stub, company I.D., W-2 or company healthcare card. All are acceptable items to verify employment. (Note: business cards will not be accepted as proof of employment). The dealership must list the company or organization's name on the AXZD-Plan Pricing Agreement.
  • For residents in the same household as the eligible employee/retiree, driver’s licenses’ will be required for proof of residence.
  • For membership-based partner companies, you must provide a membership card that indicates a 60-day minimum membership.

Lin,

Have you confirmed that the company you will work as a contractor is a Ford Partner?
Here is a list https://www.oxmoorflm.com/ford-a-x-z...ner-companies/

A suggestion. Pull another PIN now logging on with the code for the company you are working as a contractor. Sometimes it’s not easy to find the Ford Partner Code. The one you pulled using your current employer partner code cannot be used for another partner Xplan purchase.

Another way of qualifying is owning at least 100 shares of Ford common stock for at least 60:days.

I'll have to check tomorrow with someone at the Contractor place and see if I can use them. If not then I'll do the EAA- At least I know a little about Airplanes. My Dad had a 5 seat Beechcraft either Very late 70's or early 80's

i saw that on a few and didnt know.
call HR at your work and see what they say. They will tell you the partner code, or in my case I had to go online through my Perks page.
I asked someone here at the new job so I'll hopefully find out today.

I used to like X Plan back in the last century. Over the years as invoice has migrated closer to MSRP, it’s just not the smokin’ deal it once was. When they bumped the so-called “Administration Fee” to $275, that was the last straw for me, I don’t use it anymore. It’s still a decent deal if you don’t want to haggle over the price or if you live in one of the states that allows thousand dollar doc fees but if you’re looking for the absolute lowest price, shopping a few different dealers can save you a significant amount over X Plan.

Fyi, not only does the EEA and Mustage Club work, that also are some other clubs like NCGA, American Motorcycle club, Quarter Horse, farm Bureau, Corn Growers, texas cattle...
I did the Mustang car club, $25 for a year.

Dealership shinnanigan’s

Spoiler

I worked for a car dealership as the sales paper pusher and i closed the deals with the customers for 6 weeks after i retired from the army, I was a Recruiter for my final 13 years, loved being with the troops, not a desk.
Six weeks of the crooked **** going on was all i could take, I dont know the money numbers on new vehicle sales, but the markup on the used vehicles was crazy, The customer would come to my desk to sign the paperwork that had already been filled out by the sales manager, including life ins, ext warranties, paint sealer applications, those extras got them the inflated max payment they qualified for, Not the best vehicle for them or a nicer vehicle at a possible lower payment. I only go to local dealer for service and oil changes. Its a sham, they all have to make money, but there is some very slimy dealerships out there.
