I have been having an issue with my turbo recently. When I do a hard acceleration, I loose boost for a little while and then it kicks back in and is normal. After watching some of DieselTechRon's videos to see what he had on diagnosing a sticking turbo, I learned my VGT was dropping below 15 and getting stuck at 85 and was at 0 with KOEO. From his video, I am pretty sure I just need to clean my turbo. When checking this, I also noticed when I checked ICP with KOEO, my ICP was at 8. After getting back from test driving my truck to get the numbers on the turbo, the ICO was at 2-6 with KOEO. According to DieselTechRon, my ICP should be 0 with KOEO. What else can I check with my ScanGuage or what other numbers can I provide yall to see what my issue may be. Do I just have a bad ICP sensor, or is there something else causing the high numbers. I don't really having issues with a hard start or any of the other symptoms of a bad ICP listed on a writeup and other forums. I have not unplugged the senor to see if their is oil in the plug. So with this being said, what yall think?
HAHA. I did the EGR delete and ****. You are correct. It is heavy and awkward to get out. I am glad you mentioned the other two things to check though. I did some more research off what you told me and now have some other easier stuff to check before getting into the heavy lifting. I am also going to run by O'reilly and see if they can pull any codes from my truck. I have the ScanGuageII and checked it for codes, but it found none. I have no CEL so I'm thinking there's no codes in there.
Well here is the short list.
Clone VCM2 with IDS will do it all
Snap-On Will read 99% of the codes but won't give you injector contribution.
AE but lies about the contribution of the injectors. Forscan laptop version with the OBD2 connector that works best with it. USB is a bit faster than Bluetooth or WIFI. I don't think it will give injector contribution.
The bang for the buck is one of the better for the price. Software is free and you only
need to buy the OBD2 device.
The best tool is the Rotunda VCM2 with IDS software subscription. It also costs the most.
