What ever the problem is, I have had enough. I'm changing the system out. We have friends who have not had any problems with them on the same model trailer. I had thought about adding a rubber bump stop so if it failed again it would not drop all the way to the shackles but that would be a band aid. I mentioned it only as a warning to be sure to keep an eye on the rubber inside the SRE4000. The company sure reacted quickly and got me the replacement parts quickly. For that I am grateful.
Did you do wet bolts at the same time you dd the SRE4000? I had switched from the SRE3000 and so no real difference. If I had any problems I would look at the IS from them. Buddy has the kit on his and loved it, full times so he is heavy. Haven't had mine scaled recent but I'm sure it's in the 14K range.

Was it the rubber itself that was coming apart or did the metal parts start to fall.

The rubber bond failed.

I have the original RE that was mounted at the factory and my rubber blocks started tearing at around 13 years and 80K miles so I wasn't to upset but I didn't like the $120 each for 4 rubber springs. That's what they call them, when the weigh was on the suspension the splits were about 1" deep and the trailer was leaning to one side but they didn't tear all the way before I found the problem.

So one failure at 80,000 miles and the other after an Alaska trip. I'll watch them. The roads in Alaska bad enough to do the damage?

Before we started going off the pavement allot we had an the Mooryde LRE4000 (no longer made) developed cracks twice then I installed 17" wheel and Timbren STI air bag suspension. A heavy kitchen drawer still comes open but that's after hours of pounding down logging roads.

Even had both plates under the truck airbags bend (reinforced with 3/8" now) but the trailer is O.K.

I always thought the lre4000 was kind of weak looking and watching a video of one in action looked like it wouldn't last long from the pounding.

I have the older LRE suspension like Denny's, specs say a 3" long and 3/4" deep crack or tear. In this image the depths aren't even a 1/4", this is with 40k highway miles and many miles off road to boondock locations. Don't know how many miles the previous owner put on them. Maybe another year or so and will put new ones on as preventive maintenance.

Disc brakes would be sweet but for now the drums will have to do.

Is that with the weight on it or jacked up that's about what my right side looked like with weight on it. The left side was the side with big tears, its also my heavier side of the two. I'm also on my second set of leaf springs but I stopped keeping track of the mileage when it hit 100K a few years back.

That's with the weight on it. I was going to change them last year when I did the shackle upgrade, talked with Morryde and showed pictures with measurements. They said it wasn't necessary yet.

The price for PT108-020 is $129.99, which is 2 blocks bonded together was the price that they quoted.
