My first diesel. Ford dealership says I need 8 new injectors. I took it in with a miss and now it won't even go 55 miles an hour and will barely start. How can I verify what they're saying.?
There are people here who are better with describing how to checkl but your issues could be any of the following
Bad fuel pressure (regulator spring, leak, pump, filters)
A bad injector seal
High pressure oil system issue (small leak or pump failing)
One or more failed injectors
Bad ficm (which can be caused by a failing alternator/batteries)
Don't throw $3k away on injectors to only find out its your ficm ect...
04 with a bully dog. It is studded. That's the only thing that I can tell for sure. It still has EGR. Ford told me that the head pressure was fine. I really don't believe it needs 8 injectors. I had the truck scanned at a couple of other places. Every time they would tell me different injectors were not firing. Only one or two though. Since I got it back from Ford it will hardly run. I don't know what they done to it, but I had put ten thousand miles on it towing an enclosed trailer before I took it to them.
