injector care info
i read a few people that had to have injectors replaced...but do they really costs that much money? the people that had the prob, was in from the facotry or was it something they did or did not do?
i read keeping the water drained and running some cleaner through it now and then should almost guarentee the injectors to last a long time, anything else?
all diesel injectors costs this much or just the 6.0? thank you.

Cost $270 to $300 each. 7.3L is around the same price, over $200. I have check several injector sites and called many companies that do injector work. Ford has designed something that most companies will not touch. Also the labor to change them out is expensive. Your comment on keeping the water out and adding cleaner is the only common point on all injector problems. The tech and dealer say the same thing about it. I am not sure if it is a easy way out that Ford teaches there techs/service. My father is on his 4th diesel and has never had any issues. 2 Fords, 1 Toyota and 1 Dodge. He has never added fuel additive or injector conditioner. The fact that out of 15 injector companies only one offers this injector. They have redesigned it with stronger injector tips and firing pins. Makes me think that it is a poor design.
