Hi Friends, what is the best and safest way to wire in a cigarette auxillary socket in my 1979 f150? I wired it direct to the battery with a 10amp inline fuse. I' ve been told that this has a fire risk. I was then instructed to wire it to a fuse that runs accesories in the fuse panel. What should I do? What size fuse and guage wire should I use?
thanks.

What you have done is fine as long as the wire is not any smaller than 18 AWG and the fuse is as close to the power source (battery) as is practical.
Great! Can I run another wire from the same positive terminal off the battery to another aux charging port. I am installing in the back of the pickup bed? If yes, can I make a splitter to run these two wires? Do I need 2 inline fuse holders? Will both run current or be a parasitic drain in the battery when not being used?

Both ports can use the same wire and fuse. As it is unlikely they both be used at the same time. There will be no draw when they are not in use.
It's best if the fuse is closer to the battery than not but otherwise, I've done the same thing. Do keep in mind that anything plugged into the port will be live at all times and may run your battery down if it's a big enough load.
I'm in the middle of adding a relay/fuse box that will be controlled by the ACC position of the key in the engine compartment to be able to run a bigger stereo if I want, a USB charging port, the 2 fuel solenoids I'm adding to make all 3 tanks selectable from the dash and maybe a 2 meter radio.
