Curious if anyone else has this problem? My 76 has a few terminals that the fuses snap into on the fuse block which are so corroded that I am going from the battery voltage doe to about 5 volts! Dual tank fuse terminals are so bad the solenoid won't even work. The plating almost appears to be gone on some terminals, the back of the fuse block has that greenish oxidation or build-up on the terminal to wire connection crimps.
In my best efforts to keep things stock appearing, I hate to bypass or rewire fuse pigtails in place. Anyone ever see the terminals available or you think I am stuck butchering up an old wire/fuse box harness?
The fuse terminals are open-barrel crimp style. You'll need to pull the fuse block forward and take the terminals out from behind. You'd need to cut the problem wire, then splice in replacement wire of the proper length and gauge so that it runs all the way up to the original location. You'd then crimp a new terminal in its place, and snap it back in to the fuse panel. I'm not sure where you would get replacement fuse terminals, if it's even possible. If not, you could cut a piece out from a junkyard harness; I have done that before.
As for cleaning the terminals I use a dremel tool with one of the small wire wheels, once cleaned to my satisfaction I spray the terminal down with contact cleaner, then apply a thin coat of dielectric grease with a Q-Tip, just remember to disconnect the battery before you start or sparks will fly!
I also added another fuse panel next to the original fuse block as there were no extra terminals for accessories!
