i have a 2000 mercury muntaneer it has a 302 with gt40p heads on it they are both bad iv came into a 302 E7TE-PAmotor or motor with them heads what i need help with is i need to know if i can put the E7TE-PAheads on my block if so do i need to do any thing els to make it work and im not doing this to make more or less power i need to know that way i can have a car agen so i can get a job im in a bad spot any and all help would be nice sorry about my spelling
I can't answer your question about weather the E7 heads will work. I would believe that your"bad" GT 40 heads would have some value to someone who would want to rework them. Some money for your pocket to help defray your costs of getting back on the road. Best of luck to you.
becuz when i take my oil plug out it has a ton of water in it and just to see what was going on i letf the plug out and rolled it over and more water came out if that makes since and the last time i had it out befor i changed all the gaskets the headers where chery red sorry about the spelling
You have a blown head gasket most likely, it's also possible for there is a crack in the block or one of the heads but it would be incredibly unlucky that both heads are cracked.
Have the heads ever been of this motor before? If they were and thread sealant was not used on the outer head bolts that is another way to get coolant into the motor.
thats a lot of water for a head gasket not to for get that it has brand new one on it and its odd when i took off the coolent cap to see if i needed more water why it was runing after all new gaskets it shout out like it has been runing for hours and was hot but it was not hot and just been started up seeings how my daly dever was stolen and tottled this mud toy is all i got untell i get some money saved up from a job if i can get this thing going and what els could it be if not the heads i dont have the money to get them tested or any thing like that so i figed just put them two heads on it that i know work just fine and fix every thing
So you had the motor all apart? Why did you do that?
It could be an intake gasket leak too, did you use RTV silicone to seal around all the water passages?
yes i did have it apart as for rtv i could not rember that far back to when had a motor this torn apart when i was in high scool so i took autozones word for it that i would not need rtv becuz i was not changeing the water pump or timeing chan they said with the new to me parts and what i can reuse from the gaskets that i just put in what all do i need to do to finsh this thing thanks for evey thing so far by the way
