Issues with 2020 SuperDuty trailer TPMS programming
I have a fifth wheel trailer that had the trailer Camera/TPMS kit installed from when I had my 2017 F350. With the 2017 F350 the TPMS was programmed into the truck and working correctly. Now I have a 2020 F350 and using the existing equipment on the fifth wheel from the 2017 Trailer Camera/TMPS kit and I cannot get the 2020 F350 to recognize the trailer tire TPMS sensors. I did not order the trailer Camera/TPMS kit on my 2020 so I had to go into FORSCAN and enable the TPMS programming (IPC Module TPMS - Trailer set to Eable). I've taken the trailer to Discount Tire and they have confirmed that all 6 of the TPMS sensors are functioning properly. But using Discount tires TPMS training tool, the Ford training tool (TPMS19), or letting the air out of the tires does not work to program the trailer TPMS into the truck. I also checked that the trailer TPMS sensor was communicating by unplugging the Camera/YAW/TPMS cable in the bed and getting the warning message that no trailer TPMS is detected.
Any suggestions on what to do next? Is there more places in the IPC Module I need to change? Has anyone gotten the 2017 trailer TPMS sensor working on a triple axle trailer in a 2020 F350?
I have a 2020 F250 Tremor 7.3 and bought the kit to install. Camera works with no issues. I should be prompted to set up trailer TPMS when first turned on but a no go. Are you saying you have to program using FORSCAN for the IPC to allow set up?
Thank you for responding. Unfortunately I purchased the TPMS/Camera kit after purchasing the truck. I've seen 2 videos where the user was prompted to set up the trailer tpms after the kit was installed. I'm not being prompted and I don't see any reference in the IPC under Trailer showing anything to do with trailer TPMS. I'm going on a long RV trip in 4 days. Someone mentioned in another forum that they had to use FORSCAN to enable the IPC module TPMS - Trailer Set to "Enable". Is that something my Ford dealer can do?

I believe that if required, it is something your dealer should easily be able to do. However, if it can be done in FORScan, I'd encourage you to do it that way. Assuming you have a Windows-based laptop, it's a free tool that can really do a lot for you.
My trailer camera/TPMS system should arrive on Monday and I'll be installing it along with a new set of wheels and tires too. If I have any issues or epiphanies, I'll be sure to report back. Good luck!
I bought the correct trailer TPMS only kit for my 2020 F250 (LC3Z1A189E). After installation, the TPMS module was not recognized. I tried the latest version of Forscan, but there was no setting for enabling the trailer TPMS. Went to the dealer and was able to get a service bulletin that said the IPS has to be reprogrammed for trucks built before Feb 24, 2020. I thought the service department could do this as a warranty repair but no, I have to pay. Hopefully this information will help someone else out searching for answers.
If you bought the TPMS with the truck or as an accessory there is no charge. The dealer makes a warranty claim and its not on you. If it was an accessory they need to claim just as stated in the SSM. For reference the trailer TPMS is in Forscan and in the plain English section.
Thanks for the response. I got the truck back from the dealer after the SM update, brought it home, hooked it up the trailer and.... it doesn't detect the trailer TPMS.
I checked Forscan again but I can't see any reference to the trailer TMPS. Could this be a limitation of an old OBD II device? Forscan also does not label any module as ICM, but it does have several TPM values for the truck on the BCM.

How long ago did you purchase the kit? I just took delivery of a truck last month and the kit was part of the truck build but it was missing from the delivery. Dealer still doesn't have one in stock to give me. Also thanks for the bulletin, my truck was built in Feb 2020.
I ordered a F-450 Platinum with the individual trailer TPMS option on 12-30-2019. Truck was delivered on 3-11-2020 with out the TPMS kit. Got a call from the salesman about 3 weeks later that said they received my license plates and a box so stop by. Stopped in and the box was the TMPS kit, although it was the 2019 kit with a 2020 addendum letter that basically said to run both wire bundles (the TMPS kit one and the one that came with the trailer yaw sensor) plug the yaw sensor into the bed 12 way and the TMPS into the bumper 12 way. I still haven't run any wire bundles on my 5th wheel yet, makes me mad to think they charged 500 dollars for that kit and I have to have a wire draped over the tail gate. Although, I did swap my wire bundle with another user on the forum that got the camera + TMPS kit and did receive a 3 plug wire bundle (he doesn't have the yaw sensor so didn't need the wire bundle with it). The other thing is that when I placed my order the individual trailer TMPS kit description said it came with 6 wheel sensors but the 2019 kit I got only had 4.

I just got the kit this week after ordering it in early July. It came with 4 tire pressure sensors.
Even though you don't have the harness, modules and sensors yet, do you see a 'Tire Pressure' item in your trailer list on the display?
I just picked the truck up from the dealer and my trailer TPMS is now working as advertised. I'm told that it took considerable work and communication between the mechanic and Ford to get it sorted out. My truck was built Dec, 2019 and per the bulletin above, this seems to matter.
FYI, I now see a trailer TPMS item in the display even when no trailer is connected.
