So my Speedo on the 77 f250 4speed is wonky. Barely registers.
so I replaced the cable and hooked it to the Speedo and ran a drill and it worked fine.
gear on other end of the cable looks good but when I put it in and drive it is bad but working up to around 15 mph and then is bad
do you think it’s the gear inside the transmission? Dennis-carpenter has all the gears, figured I might just replace both so they fresh.
Can you replace the trans gear easily?
The driven gear is much easier to replace than the drive gear. Also it is more likely the problem. Changing the drive gear requires partial disassembly of the transmission. Changing both would be good, but would require some work.
