speedo jumpin

ok guys on my 79 150 4x4 my speedo jumps back and forth between 0 and 50 till i get to about 35 or 40 mph do you think this is the speedo gear in the drive train or my speedo it self? thansk guys

Mine does it on my 77 F-150 4x after being in 4-Low,,,,

My vote would be for the speedo cable, but it may just need to be lubed. You can get some grease or other lube for it at Napa, I'm almost sure.

i just pulled mine off and put it back on and it fixed it. i think it came loose at the dash

My speedo cable was broken when I got the truck. After I put the new one on it jumps a bit up until 30mph and then smooths out nicely. No kinks in the line either.
