So I recently installed the remote start with security system on my truck. I did the forscan changes, I think.
now when I lock my truck with the transmitter the alarm is on, as I’ve tested it.
now my question and problem
when I set lock with the transmitter and try to unlock the door with door code, truck will unlock but when I open the door it’ll honk chirp then the alarm goes nuts.
Is my door keypad useless now ?
i’d like to be able to lock the truck via fob but still have access via door code
any help ?
did I do something wrong in forscan or maybe something in dash that’ll fix this.
What year truck and what part# did you install? Mine’s an 18 and I put in JS7Z-19A361-A. My keypad still unlocks as it should with no alarm. I believe there’s a newer part# for the 19’s or 20’s.
I believe that’s the part# for the 19’s and 20’s. The 17’s and 18’s use the part # I posted above. No idea if that’s part of your issue or not but it’s a good guess!
Just double checked on the Ford Accessories site. It’s definitely for the 19’s and 20’s. No idea what the difference is between the two units though. Here’s a screenshot of the compatibility.
If you’re sure the 19/20 part is compatible with the 17’s then I don’t know where else to look. On mine I enabled the remote start menu, the parking lights and the climate control. There wasn’t much to it. Is your keypad factory? In some instances they’re dealer installed. It’s easy to tell, they look quite a bit different from the factory version.
Maybe return the settings to normal and then try the install again?
