My manual describes this an "if equipped" function that comes from the factory disabled and has to be enabled by the dealer. That made me wonder if these factory equipped keyless entry systems (RKE) have other "programmable" features not listed in the owner's manual. From what I understand these RKE's are made by Code Alarm so they are likely Code Alarm's basic system. Is there anyone who works at a dealership that can tell me this? Or at least tell me what features can be programmed at the dealership?
I got a dumb one for you on my crewcab when you shut the key off the doors are suppose to unlock well the front 2 doors do but the back 2 dont.I also noticed that it has the child proof lock system so i put the kid in there and told her to try and open the door nothing happened so i flipped it back to non child proof locks and she still cant get it out Unless i unlock the doors with the keypad or pull up on the lock.

Did you try searching all the forums for this? I remember reading a thread about this a few months back. I wish I could answer your question, but I have a Viper alarm that controls the door locks. And it is set to unlock only the drivers door when the ignition is turned to off, it makes my wife feel more comfortable when she drives it.
If you have a viper alarm i think you have to have them program it to arm all doors or unlock all doors.I know on my viper in my car it can be programed to do different things on arming and disarming.

The Viper can be programmed to lock/unlock seperately. As long as the installer is using a Bitwriter they can program the ignition lock and unlock seperately. The way it is set-up now is by our choice. If you only have the Advanced Security Group on your truck you'll probably want an alarm anyway, then like you said you can get the installer to do it your way. Well that and the Viper 791XV is a remote start and these things are the coolest. If only Ford gave us that amount of choice.
I have had the 791xv in all my vehicles my wife works in a ford plant and she can start her vehicle from her line and the vehicle be in the middle of the parking lot. This winter everyone is going out to start there cars she was like oh yeh let me start mine to and hits the button and done...Everyone thought she was joking and when one of the guys went to start his car parked next to hers he came back in screaming he needs to get one of those...He was cool about it till he found out how much it cost...lol
