Since Ford restarted I have been trying to get a price on a new truck. Been sending out inquiries since last week Tuesday. Not one dealer has responded with a price Do dealers not want to sell trucks? Is anybody having the same problem?
I didn't have any problems getting price quotes from dealers. Are you calling them or going on their website and requesting a quote? I found that requesting info online was pretty effective in getting a follow up. Also, go to Ford.com and create an account. It might help you get a PCO. I was fortunate enough to receive a $3k PCO. Good luck.
Got the account at ford.com for 6 months. Sent out 6 request for internet price only 2 responded $2000 off MSRP.
Well, that sucks! You should be able to get 8-10% pretty easy. I know when I was looking the particular truck I was looking for was scarce. F-350 / SRW / Platinum / Pretty much loaded, in black or white. I ended up getting a white one. Here was my deal 3 weeks ago. MSRP: $84455.00
Discounts: $9086.00 - Includes $3k PCO
Sell Price: $75,369.00
Taxes& Fees: $5631.08
Total Drive Out $81,000.08
Cash deal, no trade. I got prices on 4 trucks, all within $200 MSRP. One in Florida, two in Ga., and this one is in Alabama. This was the best deal I could get. I searched the hell out of the internet for this configuration in black or star white with black interior and they are rare. In the end as I was trying to make up my mind my wife said to get the white one to fix her OCD. Her car and our 2 work trucks are white so now they'll all be white. Yes, dear.....
I don't know if you're willing to travel but you may have to in order to get the truck you want at a decent price. Good luck and let us know if you find one and get a deal you can live with.
Here's a thread on the elusive PCO's . Good luck, hope you can get one. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...00-pco-63.html
Try Koons Ford in Baltimore. I and a bunch of other members on this forum either bought a truck off the lot or factory order one from Koons.
In terms of response, more than half the dealers I emailed did not respond back to me. This was also back in April 2019 so Covid-19 had nothing to do with lack of response. My method of contact was to look up the contact info of a salesperson from the dealer's website and then I emailed them my buildsheet and some info (zipcode, trade in, finance, etc). I should mention that I did not include my phone # for fear of spam calling and that the dealers I contact were out of state and ranged from 7 - 12 hr drive so maybe that scared them off. From what i've read on the forum, getting a quote online is usually met with less enthusiasm from the dealership if you are ordering.
Are you buying off the lot or factory ordering? If buying off the lot, if you click the "request more info" or "get the super duper best price" or similar button found on the dealership website, a salesperson would most likely respond to you. For me, when I did that, someone would always respond to me.
My problem is I can't find more than 2 F250 XLT 7.3L w/4.30 gears in surrounding states. My local Ford dealer has been working on a "Locate" to bring one in, but has been unsuccessful. Dealers don't seem to be willing to trade. I might have to go to an F350 XLT with the 3.73 gears.
