Yes, I think people lump all the 3rd party, market place vendors in with Amazon, they are not one in the same.

I have alwats had good experiences with buying from Amazon until I tried to get a battery for my Tacoma. It not only took longer than expected, but also came damaged, twice. They were ofcourse great when it came to refunding,, but after the second battery came damaged I gave up and ordered elsewhere.

Just like their dealer list shows Amazon is not an authorized dealer and there is no warranty on the product from Enersys. Feel free to contact Enersys as this is the same response I have received twice on the subject.

Hello,

Is Amazon.com an Authorized dealer and distributor for Odyssey batteries? I understand per the warranty statement there is no warranty when purchased from a unauthorized source. I just want to confirm before I place an order.

I have contacted them. I spoke with them directly. Their website has not been updated but Amazon purchases are covered. It would appear the rep you spoke with was giving you old info since this is a recent change. I asked about this specifically since I had read others were told the same and was told that it was a new arrangement between one of their wholesale distributors and Amazon. So, either your rep was misinformed or mine was lying in detail. I'm not worried about it either way to be honest though. The only battery warranty I've ever call upon, after countless vehicles, is the OE leakers on my 2017 SD.

On a side note, I do know they push AutoZone pretty hard as they sell more batteries for them than anyone. And, like I said previously, I would have bought there but their warehouses were bare with no replenishment date in sight. The EnerSys rep I spoke with confirmed that there was a national backlog on fulfilling AutoZone battery orders and couldn't comment on when they would catch up and replenish their warehouses.

Anyone know why these Motorcraft batteries leak so bad? I previously owned a 2008 SD which had Motorcraft batteries and they were great.

Let's see. I think the reasons suggested so far are:
1. Bad batteries
2. Over charging
3. Overtightening the clamp
4. Fluid levels too high from the factory

Ford changed the source from JCI to Exide (BSI) when JCI sold off their automotive battery division. I still have several older group 65 batteries around and the plastic casing is vastly different. Most notable is the lack of stiffness to the top of the case. I do believe the cases actually expand and contract seeping acid at the terminals in the process.

Also interesting to note is that despite having the same part number, the dealer installed OE replacement is different than the one installed at the factory. The original is black labeled and has a sight window to show the state of charge. The replacement is red labeled without the window. (At least in my situation this was the case...) I'm not sure if they are both manufactured by Exide? I know in the case of the factory installed oil filter vs. the Motorcraft filter, they are different colors and also made by different companies. The black factory installed unit is made by Champion brands while the white Motorcraft one is made by Purolator.

Might be overcharging but I will never know because 2019 F250xl has no volt meter. guess that helps Henry's bottom line

For a long time all manufactures eliminated voltmeters from dash displays and went to ammeters. Ammeters could tell you if your alternator generator or regulator either died or went into a run away mode but it would not identify an incorrect regulator setting. Then they eliminated ammeters.

Im a tech fiend and I want to be able to monitor battery voltage. I feel that’s more important than monitoring alternator output with an a ammeter.
