Dash lights quit!

Dash lights quit!
They all quit at once. No fuel, speedo, heat, nothing. The gauges still work great, the lights just quit. Already checked the fuses, they're ok. These things hooked up in series or something? Also, how do I get to the lights? Any ideas?

to get to the lights, just take out the screws along the outside of the instrument bezel and pull it out a little. you can probably access them from there. there on the back of the instrument panel. if you can get to them, you will have to take loose the wire connector and the spedo cable and just pull the whole thing out.

My dash lights went out too. But not before I saw sparks when
I adjusted the dimness. The spring resistance wire had broke. So I just pulled it all out and hot wired the dash light to the parking lights. Now the dash lights come on full brightness when I turn on the parking lights or head lights. The wires are right next to each other on the bottom of the light switch.
While I was at it I installed brighter dash lights. Cut out the plastic
Dash light opening. ANd painted it Black.
Looks alot better now, and brighter at night.

I found one bad bulb. I replaced it, and they all came back on. Dont ask me why, but they did. Thanks!

Evidentally the bulbs were wired in series like a set of old series wired xmas lights. MK
