I had the latest "flash" done on Monday and now I have a slight, however very distinct, vibration @ idle when the truck is in gear. You can feel it through the seats, steering wheel, and pedals. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this probably related to the turbo mount issue. It is very strange because I did not notice it before the "flash" was issued.
I recently had the flash (Oct) done as well. After the flash I feel the vibration under the exact same conditions. It is not the turbo mount resinance felt at 1600rpm and was not there before the reflash.
My mech. says to expect another flash in the near future. He says the 6.0 was a good motor until Ford added all the emmisions junk.

I live in so. Calif., and was plan of buying a 2004 F250 6.0 PSD. But your comment gives me cause for concern because of California's overbearing smog laws. Do you (or any other readers) have experiences with the new 6.0 PSD in Calif?

I just got flashed last week, now have a the same vibrations as mentioned above and did a search to find this post. I can say that it comes and goes though. Last night I thought it was going to die at a stop light. I have a radar detector attached to the windshield and it was shaking all over the place.
I'm going to mention it to my service guy and see what he says.
BTW, I believe ALL 6.0's and all other cars for that matter have to meet CA emissions tests.
I would guess the new vibration sine the Oct reflash is due to the pilot injection being removed and now the idle is noisier and the cylinder firing is all at once instead of graduated so it feels rougher...
I don't notice the vibration as much as the noise... MUCH louder - Can't know for sure, but sounds louder than my 7.3L was !
I know have to shut off at drive thrus whereas before never had to do that !
Thanks FORD... I love my X, but I ordered a 5 BR brick house on the beach, and now you're changing it to a 2 BR shingle house in downtown NY!!!

I have a F-350 with a 6.0L and live on the left coast. True, CARB is a bunch of anti-diesel nut cases, but the changes being made to diesel trucks is due to federal emission standards. The only difference between a California F-350 and a non-California F-350 is the mapping of the PCM and the GVWR is 9,700lbs instead of 9,900lbs . F-250 still retains it's GVWR of 8,800lbs, but I'm assuming the mapping of the PCM is similar to the F-350. When ordering your truck the dealer needs to add that California "option" on. Also note that there are a few other states that are also going with the California option too. As far as performance and fuel mileage I doubt you would notice any difference between a California truck and a non-California truck.
One plus to owning a diesel in California, no smog checks required. At least for now.
