They can be a bear to break loose if they haven’t been out in a while. This is what I use:

It is a T40 Torx but you knew that, right?

You can use a regular torx socket with a long extension, just tape the socket to the extension with electrical tape so you can get it out.

Are you having trouble breaking it loose or just getting to it?
I took a regular short torks and ground the sides of where the extension goes in .
it was too fat to fit in between the upper intake.
If it's tight and won't release... You can tap on the extension with a hammer.
or use a manual impact. The style that you twist tight on handle and smack with hammer.

1/4in extension and a flashlight... They're a pain to get out. Might want to give it a good shot of carb cleaner to clean the gunk off the torx head

I thought I was T-30? I use a little T-30 bit and a long 1/4" Milwaukee impact driver extension.

Sometimes trying to tighten a bolt will break it free.

I have reached under the upper plenum holding the Torx socket to attach the extension.

My extra long Torx bit says T40 on it.

Had to grind down the sides of my bit too. Not sure what size and its way up the hill in my garage....

hey, use the one that fits!-).

And it has helped me on several bolts (too many to count) to tighten them a very little bit....and also to
smack ’em With a hammer and also to clean em out with some carb clean and spray some kroil in there too
AWLAYS helps the most.

so, you got it out already and we’re just racking up posts like there’s no tomorrow.....

I just did this on a customer truck. It's a T40.
