Fuse box mount

Looking for how the fuse box mounts under the dash. I remember a while ago one of the plastic mounting tabs broke off and the whole box is zip tied out of the way.

i believe there are two ears that bolt to the body and the fuse box slides in, but can’t remember for sure. Also not sure of the orientation. Any pictures would help, thanks!

You are right there are 2 "ears" or brackets that bolt to the floor with a long, looks like a sheet metal bolt.
Then the box slides onto the brackets. This is so you can slide the box off the brackets to get to the flasher on the back side.
I will see if I can get a picture or 2 of it mounted in place but it is up from the hi / low head light switch mounted on the floor.

Okay thanks! It’s somewhere by the parking brake I know, I think the ears are different too or side specific, I’ll see if I can find them

This is what I stole off a parts truck, so I’ve got the long screws, not sure what goes where though

Found a fuse box on eBay that still had the ears attached, so this is the orientation.

so the initial problem I see is that the ear clips on the box are broke off on the smaller ear, so it won’t clip in. Any thoughts other than buying a new box? This old plastic is pretty brittle!

There is an ear on each side of the box and each has the bolt that goes thru it.
Is it the box or the ear that has the slot broken?
It looks like 1 of the ears has the broken slot but I have not seen the box to know if that slot is also broken.

The ear in the hand goes on the left side not the bottom. Did not know they could be put on the bottom?

If the ear or box has broken slots the only thing to do is get them used.
I am sure once the ears are on the box and you put the box up in that area you will see the 2 holes in the floor for the bolts.

Also I think once up in place and bolted to the floor even if just the 1 ear is holding it, use both bolted to the floor, I think will be ok as it just holds it up out of place and there is no strain onit.
Heck think the wires will hold it in place for the most part.

That’s the picture I sourced, unless they moved the ears....

the slots on the fuse box on that bottom side are broken. The ears are good.

Oh boy do I feel bad
I had to go look at my truck and that picture is right, bracket off the right side and the bottom.
Don't know why I was thinking they were off the sides as there is no room for it on the left side.

I don't know but from that picture it looks like there are slots at the top.
I don't know if the ear will fit at the top or not but might see if it can.
Other wise the only fix I can think of is to replace the box if the only ear you have will not keep it in place.

Do you still need a picture of where it bolts down at?
Sorry on the ear mix up
