To throw another wrinkle into this, not all Motorcraft parts on Amazon are genuine. There was a video posted on the front page of FTE awhile back. IIRC, the seller of these filters is one of the good ones though.

Thats definitely a good point. When buying parts off of Amazon/Ebay you have to be careful, there are fakes out there. I'd rather just stick to reputable sources.
I’m not saying this is the case for amazon but I recently bought two streamlight led lights for some pistols. Both had broken battery doors. Called streamlight as this was highly unusual. Ended up both being counterfeit. These were sold by amazon, looked exactly like the streamlight and streamlight sells directly to amazon. Streamlight sent out authentic replacements in exchange for my fake ones.
Now for fuel filters, unless it’s coming from a ford dealer that sells thru them or is guaranteed to be authentic, I’ll take my chances at the dealership or the dieselfiltersonline linked above. They are based about an hour from us in the back of a Napa. They are legit.
