I will be making an offer on a 2020 Lariat on dealers lot tomorrow. It does not have adaptive cruise and adaptive steering. Two options I would have ordered (if the factory was running!).
Can these be added?
Also, it’s not clear if there is a rear stabilizer on this truck (no camper pkg). Is there?
I don't think you'll be able to add adaptive anything that isn't factory installed. I've been down a similar road before and was told NO. If you won't be happy with the truck you're going to go look at, don't buy it.
My dealer just damaged my steering wheel on my 2018 with adaptive steering. They have to replace the entire steering wheel at a dealer cost of $3200cad. I know the 2020 uses a different system but it’s going to be expensive. You are better off to wait for the one you want than try to upgrade it on your own with those features.
Thanks, neither is a “must have”...I can live without them. I need to get a truck now, my old truck is in tough shape. I was planning to factory order, but who knows when that will be available. Pretty much limited to dealer stock if you want a truck this year.
No, you cannot add those adaptive features without EXTENSIVE work and cost.
There will not be a rear stabilizer bar without the camper package for a F250 or F350 SRW. If you’re asking about DRW, I don’t know.
I have adaptive steering and cruise on my 2017. I ordered my 2020 without adaptive steering, but with adaptive cruise. I don’t like adaptive steering...just another thing to fail that doesn’t help me. Adaptive cruise is nice to have, but I wouldn’t exclude a truck from consideration if it didn’t have it.

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking regarding steering/cruise.
If you can live without the above items and the rest of the truck is your dream truck, buy it and don't look back.
Is it a F250 or F350? Or do we have to wait until you post pictures?

Sorry; F350/LB/CC/SRW gasser.
No pics yet, I will be making an offer today.
My “dream” truck would have been a factory order-but i suspect there won’t be any factory orders delivered until at least late 2020. If at all this year.
But the truck I am looking at checks most of the boxes for me, and I am ok with that.
Yes, you can add additive cruise,, I’ve done it and so has numerous other people but you have to have the wiring harness present under the plastic cover on the dash where the HUD goes. Takes 10 sec to check, pop off the cover if it's there good to go... Takes about 2 hours to add adaptive cruise. However Ford has jacked up the price of the radar module to discourage people from doing so, and you need either IDS or Forscan and you need to know what your doing to modify the config.
Setting the record straight.. search around your find the threads.
There a to many Super Duty's available with the equipment you want. Adding these features will cost you more than finding one already equipped with these options. In the future, if you're traveling and have an issue, your VIN will not show the items. ( yes you'll have paperwork ) But, I wouldn't suggest opening a can of worms if you don't need to. KISS ..
Bill,
As long as your happy go for it. Have you searched Ford's web out 100 miles yet? We drove 65 miles to get our truck and my servicing dealer is less then a mile from our house(didn't have a truck in stock yet).
dont let an option hold you back from getting a truck...my truck was built per me and my budget, so I didn't add everything I wanted and am happy with her..
