where besides oil guard can I get fuel filters for the 6.0. ordered from oil guard on 12/23/04, and they're still on back order.
I am now 12k overdue on fuel filter change

I've checked around different parts houses and found I could go back to the dealer and buy both filters cheaper , a German made filter of some sort so should be pretty decent . By the way ford could've designed the fuel water separator a little different, a little difficult to change.

I ordered my last fuel filters from Advanced Auto parts locally. They are the Motorcraft filters for a much better price than at the dealer. They don't stock them, however, they had it within 2 days.
I ordered 3 oil filters & a set of fuel filters from "Filter1". The fuel filters were 39.00, & I think the 3 oil were 33.00 or so. They came very quickly. They are Wix filters or in a Wix box. The oil filter is the exact same as the Motorcraft. They want you to register to get fleet prices. If you order more than 1 you should be ok. I have 3 vehicles to buy for, 1 for work & two for wife & kid.
I also ordered fuel filters from oil guard. Waited Thursday to Monday and cancelled due to being on back order. Filter1 shipped the day after I ordered (1/18). Should arrive in UT from NY on 1/25. I was able to order 3 oil, 2 fuel, 1 air, and 5 expedition oil filters for $48 more then 3 pack of fuel filters from oil guard. Because this will last both my vehicles for a year. Free shipping.
oilguard didn't inform me about back order, until I email them to find out what was going on with my order, and I was told it would be shipped on 1-7-05. The day that I placed the order, they sent me an auto reply "thanks for your order", it would be nice that if it's not in stock that they let you know instead of thanks for your order reply, so i can make the decision to wait or go somewhere else.
I just had dealer install new fuel filters yesterday at a cost of around $94.00 plus labor!
Is this normal for dealer charge and how often should they be changed - I believe there are two fuel filters on 6.0L. Is this a do it yourself thing or not - help me out.
We now have an large supply of fuel filters in inventory for the 6.0L Ford. Orders can ship the same day as recieved. Racor was delayed in shipping and had us and others on backorder for several weeks. Prices are still the same at $37 each in 3-packs and $40 for a single.
So do the OilGuard filters meet Ford's reqs for warrienty? I *think* I read that the Motorcraft and Racor were the same brand somewhere, but can't remember where.

I have changed the fuel filters twice now with over 30,000 miles on the truck. See the Tech Folder. I wrote up procedures after the first time I changed them. It is not hard and only takes less than an hour.
I did the entire 30,000 mile service schedule myself in 4 hours.
