I've got a 2011 F-150 FX4 Supercab 5.0L that has had a Flowmaster Super 10 resonator delete set up since it had around 8000 miles (currently at just over 81000 miles). I don't have any complaints personally, It is loud yes, and it drones a little bit on the highway but its not bad at all, that or I've just become very used to it over the years. I haven't had any issues with the muffler itself rusting out or anything like that, It still sounds just as good as the day had it installed, but keep in mind I live in Texas so im well out of the rust belt, I don't know how well it would fare in a northern state. I also haven't had any issues with back pressure, no noticeable performance gain from switching to the Flowmaster (but none lost either) I am using 2.5in piping as well. But as it stands right now, it was a good investment, gave me the sound I was looking for, was reasonably priced and haven't had any reliability issues with it.
Appreciate the info, thanks! Yeah I'm in the rust belt right on lake Erie. Winters are rough with all the salt, which made me go with the aluminum body truck. I'm highly considering the MBRP pro series side exit in 304 stainless. Still waiting on my tax return and/or unloading my stock f250 wheels and tires, which ever comes first.
Ended up opting for the MBRP XP series cat back without the resonator that exits in front of rear tire. Will post the link to the vid and pics once I get it on hopefully next weekend. After listening to videos going from MBRP to super 10 and others, MBRP sounded more of a deep tone with less rasp and cracking sounds than the super 10 and others.
So ultimately I ended up getting the stainless MBRP XP side exit in front of the rear tire. It sounds fantastic, nice deep rumble. When you get into the go pedal, it doesn't sound raspy or crackily at all. I definitely recommend to anyone wanting a louder exhaust that looks good and sounds great. MBRP backs their stainless exhausts with a lifetime warranty as well, aluminized is one year.
