I've got an 86 6.9 that I've had battery/wiring issues with previously. It's been sitting for about a month and when I turn it over it's not firing right up as he was before it just keeps turning even if I turn the key back to the off position. The only way to make it stop is by disconnecting the batteries. The starter is rebuilt and both batteries are new. Any suggestions?
I just wanted to say thank you for your help. The relay that the glow plugs are going to was sticking due to bad battery cables. Replaced battery cables and tightened wire from starter relay to alternator regulator and it's starting and running again 👍
Bad battery? If you are running two Batteries (which these IDI F-250 came with) did you just
replace one? or both batteries?
They need to be replaced in pairs. The older battery will pull the new one down to it`s level.
have read where some members only run one battery.
