Starting Problems.
Very clean and very well maintained.
Good Battery - checked it at Sears
New Alt (100 amp)
Good Battery Cables - eye ball check
Starter two years old
Starter solenoid two years old
Problems:
1. Turn the key to the START postion and turn the key back to the ON postion and the starter keeps turing over. I turn the key to the OFF position but the starter keeps running and for some reason the engine will not start. (Thank GOD). I have to disconnect the battery in order for the starter to stop. Once I hook the battery back up everything works great.
Problem #1 has happened to me twice in a week.
2. I turn the key and it sounds like the battery is dead. I hear clicking noise coming from the starter. I hook up a battery charger and it starts fine.
Problem #2 has happened to me three times in two weeks.
Could it be the starter switch under the steering wheel going bad and the rob sticking from the key switch ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
350,000 miles and going strong!
1.The starter is pulling so many amps from the battery that the solenoid is getting stuck
2. There is not enough amps to turn the starter over because it is so worn out and probably has rust from sitting for so long.
Man no one guess that.
Your fired !
Actually, I remember last time my starter went out I had the same problem.
Later gators.
