When I bought my 1973 f100 this carb was sitting on the studs with 1 nut finger tight. I put it on the shelf when i pulled the engine because im not going to use it then found it again and took a closer look at it today. Looks brand new or newly remaned to me, the throttle was very stiff but a little pb and it loosened right up, I pulled the bowl and i don't think it's ever seen gas. The story I got was the truck was parked in early 90s because of carb issues but starting to thing someone replaced the carb, cap rotor, plug wires but never finished the job. Is this the right carb for a 73 with a 302 and what's it called I might advertise it after this epidemic winds down. Had to look in bowl ripped gasket but i would think if someone were to use it they would go threw it first Spacer thing
I think it's seen some use, if you look at the float it has some discoloration where it was sitting in fuel. Need to see the list # on the air horn, too blurry to read. Look that up and find the specs, but it should be OK when cleaned up and new gaskets. I would put a new power valve in it, these are in the rebuild kits. A 6.5 is probably fine, unless you live in Leadville CO or someplace like that. Check the jets carefully for the #, sometimes people install the wrong size or drill them out. The # stamped on the side should correspond with drill size up to #70 iirc. The idea basically is to baseline everything to factory settings, and see how it runs, inspect spark plugs etc and go from there.

Are the numbers on the horn, looks alot like the holley 4412 we used to run iny circle track days. And I think your right with the stain on the float
