New to the forum and hope I'm posting this in the right spot if not I'm sorry.
Hoping I can get some help identifying my carburetor. I have a 1980 Ford f100 custom. It originally came with a 302 but the previous owner swapped in a 351w with a 4 speed. Not sure what year the motor is or what it came out of. Trying to find parts for the carb but having a hard time figuring out what it is. Oh and the tag is missing.
Ford 2bbl, probably Motorcraft 2150. Rebuild kits cover most all variations, and instructions will help with the details specific to your application.
The "1.08" is the venturi size, and that's a mid sized one. You can gain some power with a 1.23 or a 1.33 if you can find one. Check the info here, and be sure to click on the link provided:
Yes, it's a 2150 that has lived hard.......your choke, some emissions, & the high-altitude aneroid gismo on the rear of the carb, are all disabled.
Personally (with respect to 85e150six4mtod), for a 302 I wouldn't swap to a larger venturi model, unless you are revving high.
The 1.08" was stock for 302's.......1.21" venturiis were used on 351 & 400 motors, & are likely to give lower vacuum/responsiveness/economy on a smaller engine.
<p>Wow... take a look at the fuel inlet hose, that thing looks to be severely dry rotted... I'd replace that ASAP else a fire will eventually result....</p><p>(Doesn't have anything to do with your questions, just pointing out a glaring warning.)</p>
Thanks for the help. It's not even in the truck right now tring to rebuild it so I am replacing all the hoses and vacuum hoses. Anyone have any idea on the numbers that are supposed to be on it. The only one I can read is e3u but I know there is supposed to be more. Also I was thinking about just replacing it with a brand new carb but really on a tight budget any suggestions on what would be a good 2 bbl replacement?

The truck originally had a 302 but now it has a 351.
Ken is absolutely correct on the carburetor sizing for a Ford truck with a 5.0/302. The Motorcraft 2150 1.08 you have is hard to beat, and it will work fine on a 5.8/351 engine if you wish to keep it. Low end power and throttle response will be incredible with the smaller carburetor.
However, if you are going to replace it, I would go with a bigger carburetor. Do you want to stay with a 2-barrel, or are you going to go with a 4-barrel carburetor?
I would like to stay with a 2bbl for fuel economy (the little I can get) and because my son (he's 14 now) might end up driving it so I really don't want 4 barrels under his right foot.

No carb ID tag...swapped engine...the OP is SOL because there is no way to know what this 2150 carb is from. 2150's were introduced in 1975 and thru 1979, there are 10 possible carb kits!
