it looks like another great day here in the North Valley. Day 7 for working from home and day 1 for Jr to be doing home schooling. We will see how it works. I turned the Travel Trailer into my home office, so that seems to help quite a bit. At lunch, I’ll need to go start the smoker to get a turkey breast ready for supper tonight.
Which reminds me. I bought turkey drumsticks. I should cook them soon. Oven is easiest. 6 drumsticks. 1 hour at 350 degrees should do it.
So I heard that you can grow things in a gallon milk jug. Filled a jug with dirt today. I'm wondering what kind of seeds to try. The story is that the plastic jug works as it's own green house to germinate the seed. Any of you guys in the country, with real land, got any ideas for a guy in the city in a high rise building with a balcony? 13 floors up. No natural worms or bugs. I see hummingbirds and bees. And there's a flock of wild parrots in the neighborhood. There are birds of prey, hawks or falcons, that nest in the PG&E building nearby, but I have never seen them.
I love KFC chicken, and their coleslaw. Whenever they open again, I'll have to go get some. However, considering how much they charge for it, I should learn to make my own. Coleslaw that is, not make my own chickens LOL
I have not been up to KFC to see if it is closed or not, I just assumed it is. The local buffalo Ranch Wings and things restaurant is closed and has been for about a month now. However, that is a small family run place and I guess they can afford to stay closed.
It's a tough decision either way. Some businesses stay open, and some go out of business. Every circumstance is different. In this unprecedented situation, Domino Pizza is allegedly doing well. I see mom & pop business operations losing money if they open or not. It's a question of how much you lose. Open or closed, you have rent. Some people aren't paying, in which case a commercial landlord could simply change the lock, and you lose everything. Some people aren't paying, and the landlord is trying to work with them. Either way, the landlord still has to deal with the bank. And how do you pay employee salary? Your supplies have to be paid for.
I'm glad that my biggest decision is a taco on Tuesday.

I am glad I am disabled, and receiving a steady income. I can still make my bill payments on time, and I have enough TP to last until summer. I'm good.
My local Safeway had tri-tip at $3.99 per pound. One of my favorite cuts of meat. I like it better than NY steak. But then again, I should cut back on red meat. Dr. Oz said it, I think. And Dr. Oz's opinion is good enough for The POTUS. If I need a 2nd opinion, Dr. Ben Carson is always hovering nearby. Or is that Jerome Adams, The Surgeon General, whom really hasn't said much of anything at all? Except for:
