I put a 4" suspension lift on my 1977.5 (low boy) F250. I need new front brake hoses. Here is my question: do I need to buy extended hoses? Mine have some slack but if OEM length ones have worked well for others then that is what I will buy. The Sky Jacker ones are double the price of stock style. I don't do heavy off -roading just hunting camping with the truck.
They might work on flat level ground, but how much slack do you have? if you hit a good sized pot hole, or when hunting hit a rut that drops one side down pretty far... will you have enough line to not pop off? My knee jerk reaction would be if you added 4" between the axle and the body (where the soft line goes between) then you would want to add 4" of line as well. Might not be absolutely necessary but it would be a good peace of mind nonetheless. Im sure some other guys with a low boy and a lift will be along soon to give you more feedback.
Yes you do. I have a 4" Rough Country lift on my 78 Lowboy F250 and I did flex checks before it rolled out the shop. Just get the longer ones. Skyjacker has steel braided, bolt, bleed and go ones for the front and the rear. https://skyjacker.com/shop/category/brake-line/
Do not cheap out after you put the lift on, 1st time you flex past the OEM slack and rip a connection you will wish you went and got longer ones.
You DID get a drop pitman arm, adjustable steering link and longer shocks right? Might as well do it 100% right. I am not saying nothing about stacking the rear blocks.
