Brake Hoses

My 71 EB is in need of new brake hoses. Are there any benefits to using the braided stainless brake hoses instead of the rubber brake hoses? The stainless are double the price and I don't know if it's worth it. Also, I have a 2" lift. Do I need to get the longer hoses that are offerd for lifted Broncos.

It is a good idea to go with the extended brake hoses with a lift. Even with a 2" lift, the suspension travel may exceed what the stock length hoses will handle.

As far as the stainless hoses, they are more durable and last longer than the rubber hoses. They don't swell on application like a rubber hose will, which will give you a better pedal feel. The cost difference really isn't that much when you consider that they should last at least twice as long.

I have them on mine and I would consider it a good upgrade.

Thanks for the response. When I lifted my EB, I kept my Monroe Gas Magnums that I installed when I had the stock suspension. Should I change those out too or will they work fine with the 2" lift? I've been using them but I'm always looking for new things to do to upgrade my EB.
