HELP! Dreaded P0500 code
Need some help from the experts here, not much help in the web for this.
i have a 1999 F-250 Super Duty, V-10, the truck was driving beautifully (only have 85K), shut the truck off all is well.
Next day I started it and got a ABS light, started driving it and shifted very rough from 1st to second, drove it about half mile and returned, during that time I noticed the check engine light came on. Researched (here of all places ) and said a VSS or Speed sensor on differential, so a 30 minute searched revealed only a differential sensor.I replaced the differential sensor, drove and no change
The next day I bought a code reader and checked, had code P0402 and code P0500, reset codes and the P0500 came back with ABS light never going off.
Does this truck have a tranny sensor and I just can’t find it? Or ?? Was quoted $150 just to hook it up and re-check codes. Any help would be great!

What's "dreaded" about the code? Fault codes are not diagnostic of a specific part in and of themselves, they are a starting point for a procedure.
It is improbable that the P0402 and the P0500 are inter-related.
Manual or auto transmission? 2 or 4 wheel drive? 2 or 4 wheel ABS? Details are critical....

The P0402 code supposed to be a EGR problem,,,
Automatic , 2 wheel drive with ABS. Still can't find a transmission sensor,,,,
