2001 Ranger Abs Light
My 2001 Ford Ranger's (Standard transmission, two wheel drive)ABS light stays on. A paint & body man had a new code reader, but not the book. The flash code flashes seven times. Can anyone tell me what that means. I took it to the dealer, they checked the truck and said it could cost up to seven hundred to fix it. I don't have that kind of money and I can't get the truck inspected (Texas) Please help.

You need to find out the code vs just a 7x flash. Depending on the unit is how you decipher the flash codes that gives.
You may want to invest in a $35-40 code reader from a local auto parts store. Go from there.

But remember, it will just tell you where to start.
Another fault MAY trigger an error code and is not always a 'sensor' that failed. It may be the sensor giving the code but represent the system (electrical, mechanical) that has failed.
