p0500 code???

I've got a 2000 ex limited with the v10.4x4.the engine light came onso I had it sscanned. Also the a.b.s light is on.and the overdrive off light was flashing but now isint.the parts store that scand it said code was po500.told me it's a speed sensor but that there's 3 of them on the truck.so I figured I'd ask to see if anyone has had this code and which sensor it is.
thanks.

When I worked at the dealership, the one that went out the most was the one on the rear end. Not saying for sure that's the problem with yours, but it was common when I was a tech.

Check all of the connectors to make sure they are all connected tight and didn't get pulled out on something. Im pretty sure you can check them with an ohm meter as well but I don't recall the procedure.

If you disconnect the battery it'll clear the codes. I'd invest the 20 bucks into the Bluetooth or wireless obd2 readers and download forscan on your computer. Well worth it! All the options that the dealer has for diagnostics!

The only sensor that can set that code is the one on the rear axle. But the sensor may or may not be the problem. It could also be the wiring to the sensor.

OK. Since the wires are good (?) replace the vehicle speed sensor on top of the rear axle.

When the rear sensor went out on my Ex a few months ago the check engine light didn't go on, just the abs light. I don't remember the code that came up though....you might have some other issues. Ps, just because you can't visually see a break in the wire doesn't mean there isn't a break internally. This is very common near the connectors.
