Fault code P0541?

I was driving my 2000 F-250 and my ABS light came on and now my speed o does not work from 0-25 then it starts working. I put my code reader on and it comes up with fault code P0541. Does this code have anything to do with the ABS or speed O? Thanks.

Like Ray said, it's just the AIH code. Nothing to do with that. Sounds like your VSS is acting up. Try taking it out & cleaning it. It's located on top of the rear diff.

Does your code reader have the extended Ford code reading capability for the PSDs?

I was talking to a guy a work and he said it might be the computer. I just thought it was odd that the abs light came on and the speed O both started acting up and the code from the reader said something that didn't seem to have anything at all to do with the issues came up. I'll try cleaning the diff in the morning hopefully it is easy. I have never done that before. Thanks to both for the help. Oh the card reader is a superchip reader. I took it to auto zone and they used their reader and it did not show any faults but I think theirs only read engine codes (or at least that is what he said).

AZ readers are crap. Our diesels don't conform to the same code standards as the gassers when it comes to computers. AZ can't read the codes from a PSD. The ABS speed sensor on top of your pumpkin is your best bet. 1 bolt job to remove. Just clean and test. If that don't work, they are probably less than $20 at a chain parts store. If your O/D light on your shifter is blinking that's a good indicator too. Happened to mine, easy fix. Didn't even have to get the jack out.

It's not the diff you're cleaning -- just the sensor on top. Like Chad said, just one bolt, and you can pull the sensor out. It's a little tight because it's sealed with and O-ring, but it will come out. It's magnetic so there will be some crud on it. I wasn't having problems, but I cleaned mine when I changed my fluid, pinion seal, and diff cover. There was some junk on it that I cleaned off of it. If that doesn't fix the problem, it's a little over $10 for a new one. More than likely that's your problem.

Well I cleaned the sensor it was full of metal shavings but it did not help. The ABS light is still on and the Speed O still don't work until 25 MPH. I'll try to get a new one and hopefully that will work. The truck should still be safe to drive I hope?

Thank you

Well the speed sensor fixed the problem and it got rid of the ABS light. Thanks to all of you who helped. I thought it was going to be expensive. Thanks again.
