Bad sensor?
today my truck started surging at idle. i figured it was just warming up but when i got onto the road it seemed to be losing power up hills and bucking, the rpms at idle were randomly going from 950 to 500 and also my mpgs are down alot. bad icp? the truck does have a ts-6 chip and the fuel filter might not be to new but it ran perfect yesterday.

Before throwing parts at it pull codes if possible then remove the chip from the PCM and see if that helps.

Good idea. Drop the negatives off the batteries after pulling codes also and zero everything out.
