New to this particular forum, but not to FTE. I usually spend all my time in the 48-56 F1/F100 forum.
A coworker who recently retired is buying some property in New York. He sent me the following pic and asked me if I wanted it. He knows I'm into old Fords. I told him I was interested if the price was right. Can't wait for him to close so I can go check it out in person to see what condition it is in firsthand.
From what I can see it doesn't look too bad....but who knows how bad it is under all the crap. If things work out I will be on this Forum alot getting help from everyone...just as I did in the 48-56 forum.
Thanks. It was my Great Grandfathers farm truck. 36K original miles when parked in 1975. Started restoration in May 2010 and finished Jun 2019. I have been looking for a 57 since that is the year I was born...but I couldn't pass this deal up.
Back in the day my Dad owned a 1954 Ford at the same time that my Grandfather owned a 1957. Dad acting like an ape in the photo I suspect. The 1957 would have been practically new since these were taken in 1957.
Just waiting on him to close. Not sure when that will be. The truck is mine if I want it which I do as long as it is in fairly good condition and not a complete rust bucket. Not ready to start a long rebuild again anytime soon.
I have 3 1966 trucks so I love them obviously. This era does have their common rust locations - didn't they all? Looks like the front edge of the hood might be taking a hit from the exposure. I hope that doesn't bode poorly for the rest of the truck...

I saw that in the pic also. I know it can be repaired or replaced...but as I said not sure I want to get into a major rebuild again so soon. But the price is right so I probably will still pick it up.
